We were a happy family who went from Ukraine to Egypt to celebrate my 35th birthday. We left our beautiful country on the morning 24th of February. Once we landed we received a message that the war started. The whole next week we tried to figure out if our parents, sisters, nephews, and nieces are still alive. Thank God they are and they left Kyiv city as soon as they can to a more safe place. Now they live in some refugees camp. They lost their job, school education, childhood. They left their apartments and everything they live for their whole life. We did the same. Due to the war, we couldn't come back to Ukraine. We had open US visas on our passports that's why we decided to move here. We have a tourist status here. We can't work. It's a law. But we need to find out how to live, where to live, rent an apartment, buy food. We have just 6 months to start the process of legalization. I spoke to several attorneys and the services are extremely high. It's around $16,000-$25,000. Can't imagine what should we do, when 6 months will pass and we won't be legal here. The worst is that we are in a much better situation than other Ukrainian that is under attack. People, I'm so sorry again. I'm ready to meet you in person (currently we are in LA), I can do some homework for you or anything for your help. Please, if you could spend even 1 cent it really will help my family, my parents, my kids. We don't want to break a law, but the main thing is that I don't know what to do if we have to move somewhere else. We have no one there. Please, reach me with any questions. I'll be happy to tell more, meet you in person, and provide any additional information that might be helpful https://www.facebook.com/ordolam/
