Claudine Carnevale

Hi, my name is Libby (Coleman) Capuzzi, and I am fundraising for Claudine because she had a medulloblastoma, which is very rare outside of the pediatric population. She has been unable to find suitable employment, and government disability is barely enough to cover living and medical expenses. Claudine Carnevale was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma in February of 2018 at age 48. Medulloblastomas are invasive, rapidly growing tumors that, unlike most brain tumors, spread through the cerebrospinal fluid and frequently metastasize to different locations along the surface of the brain and spinal cord. Medulloblastoma is the most common type of primary brain cancer in children but is very rarely diagnosed in adults. Claudine's surgeries included a tumor resection and dural repair, and she also had proton radiation therapy treatment. She is now cancer-free but not without long-term disabilities and financial strain. She was left with Ataxia (loss of balance) on her left side and complete hearing loss in her left ear. She has been in several different rehab facilities and is currently going for rehabilitation treatment at Shepherd Center Pathways in Atlanta.
Claudine has been out of work since February 2018 and is trying to get back on her feet. The process has been prolonged because of her disabilities and the necessary rehab therapy, and it's been costly. She still pays expensive Cobra insurance and all other living expenses while collecting only a small social security disability benefit. She also paid for substantial travel expenses while receiving treatment in other cities. She is still behind on bills. It's also likely she will need to move out of her home in the near future.
I am requesting donations, on Claudine's behalf, to help with her bills, such as hospital co-pays, occupational, physical and speech therapy, living expenses and any travel that may be required for treatment or Dr. appointments. She requires Lyft to travel to appointments. She has received some generous family support from her parents but does not want to exhaust all of their resources as they head into retirement. She has also expressed that donations of hotel points would be tremendously helpful if she is displaced. Lyft passes would be great too. You will need to reach out to her directly if you have points to offer generously.
Any donation to her GoFundMe would help her tremendously as she slowly and bravely gets back to somewhat of a "normal" life, if there is such a thing, after having suffered such a debilitating disease.
Thank you,
Libby
