Help Liz recover & see again after brutal attack

On Tuesday, September 20, 2022, while on her way to work, a heartless monster chased Elizabeth (Liz) Gomes across the Howard Beach-JFK airport station, grabbed, dragged and threw her to the ground, then repeatedly kicked and punched her in the face, head and upper body. He was a complete stranger to her and it was totally unprovoked. She begged and pleaded for her life, cried and screamed, but no one was able to help her. He brutally beat and stomped and our sweet Liz, until he was satisfied, then walked away.
Since then Elizabeth’s life has changed for the worse in every way. Her right eye has been stitched shut and she has been told she might lose vision permanently. She has pain all over her body and constant headaches. Liz is anxious and scared, unable to sleep, frightened, and constantly reliving the gruesome attack in her head. Liz doesn’t know if she will ever be able to walk alone, again. She is terrified.
Liz has been out of work since the attack and is not sure when she will be able to return to work. Her spouse is also unable to work due to the trauma that she has suffered and her constant need for support. He has to be with her while traveling to medical appointments and as needed to cooperate with the prosecution of this monster. The monster's criminal history includes beating his 82 year old grandmother to death when he was 14 years old; then, as an adult, he stabbed his sister with a screwdriver and attacked employees at a facility.
Before this attack, Liz was working full-time and taking care of her children. Now, her life has been turned upside down and they are all affected. Liz’s family has been using up all the resources they have. Like most people, she does not have the financial ability to be out of work for extended periods of time.
So how can you help?
Liz’s worst nightmare would be to lose vision in her eye forever. She could look in the mirror before this brutal attack, but this monster has stolen that from her. She prays to be able to go to the best doctors (neuro-optometrist, ophthalmologist, neurologist, surgeons, etc.,) to restore her sight as soon as possible. Additionally, she needs to fully recover from this terrible attack. Liz will need to undergo physical therapy as well as mental health counseling in order to live a normal life. But she cannot do ANY of this without your help. Please help however you can. We thank you so much in advance.
