Help Dave Get Back on His Feet
Our friend is on the cusp of losing his home. He’s already lost his job.
Dave is looking for new employment and he’s networking among his Marshall University School of Journalism family, but we all know it takes time to land a job, to get on the payroll and to survive getting paid in arrears.
Banks won’t wait that long. He will lose his home in the next few weeks. His need is immediate.
Think about it: so many of us are one crisis, one recession, one depressed job market away from financial catastrophe. Living in Dallas, Texas, Dave is far from his Kentucky home and his Marshall family.
It can happen to any of us. It may have happened already to you or someone you love. We’re asking friends, family and the Marshall community to step up if you can and help one of our own in in a time of need.
It’s not easy to accept help and it’s extremely difficult to be the one who asks for help. And just like he didn’t ask to lose his job, Dave didn’t ask for a GoFundMe campaign. But we’re not giving him a vote in the matter.
Put yourself in his shoes and do what you can to help our friend. (We’re sure he’d welcome a great job, too.) And, please, share this post far and wide.
