Nuala’s Chemo

Hello, our names are Ryan & Jessica Simpson and we’re the proud owners of Nuala (Pronounced Nala). After returning home from our first family holiday with our now 1 year old daughter and celebrating her first birthday with a party we got the devastating news that Nuala has been diagnosed with MCT. MCT stands for Mast Cell Tumour, which is a very aggressive form of cancerous tumour.

we have already had Nuala at the vets to undergo tests which have cost £2200. Luckily our insurance for Nuala has covered this and we still have just under £4000 left with the insurance company.

after Nuala’s initial tests we have been told that the cancer is in her left lip (where the tumour is) but has also spread to her left lymph node. The surgeons wish to extract the tumour from nualas lip and also remove the affected area of the lymph node. This means Nuala will need facial reconstruction surgery and will therefore post surgery change appearance slightly. If the surgery is successful Nuala will then be expected to go on to 8 weeks of chemotherapy treatment to hopefully stop the cancer from returning, however this is not 100%.

the cost for surgery has been estimated between £4500-£5500. This is dependent on how surgery goes on the day.

the chemotherapy has been estimated at £3300.

therefore we are looking to fundraise to help us with the costs of Nuala’s treatments. For those that know us you will know Nuala is a massive part of our life and family and we couldn’t imagine life without her.

we are currently looking at cake sales, tough mudders & the 3 peaks challenge.
