My name is Bryan Sheely. I'm a bartender in Old Town, Alexandria. On the night of November 22, 2017, I was viciously assaulted at the Bayou Room (in 219) on King Street. As a result of the attack, I received a deep laceration in my hand from broken glass, as well as a fractured shin and ankle.
Unfortunately, one cannot plan for such tragedy to occur. Being a bartender, I am currently uninsured. The injuries I sustained will hinder me from working for 10+ weeks. After going to several doctors' appointments, it's a necessity that I have 2 surgeries, first to repair my damaged ankle with screws to hold it in place and second, to reconnect a tendon and restore full use of my thumb.
I will be going in for surgery on Thursday, December 7, 2017. Any financial assistance I can receive before and after the fact would be beneficial and much appreciated. I would just like to get back to work and life as normal.
