Nuclear Fusion App: Phase 3 of 3

What if the village you've always dreamed of having was just a click away?

What if you never had to stress about finding reliable childcare, support for yourself during finals week, or help caring for your elderly parent?

What if organizing meal swaps, making friends with like-minded parents, and creating an intentional community was as simple as opening an app?

The Goal:

We at Remodeled Love are out to create this app. An app that matches and unites folks and families to each other from across the country, and even the globe, who are looking for other families with whom to form geographical villages and/or co-families. The app will suggest matches based on shared values, interests, and needs to create the villages you’ve always dreamed of!

The app will function similarly to a dating app, with the security and background checks of nanny-finding apps like "SitterCity" and "Care.com".

Within the Nuclear Fusion app, folks will be able to create a profile and search other local profiles, filtering by values that are important to them in order to make connections outside their typical social circles and expand their villages. The app is for all individuals and families from all walks of life, demographics, and age groups.

Users will navigate meeting and matching with others through a structured, four phase process, in order to increase anonymity, safety, and security. This process is currently envisioned in four phases.

PHASE 1: Create, verify, and match with other profiles anonymously.

PHASE 2: Begin anonymous, digital-only communications with matches.

PHASE 3: Begin connecting more deeply with matches, including virtual hangouts.

PHASE 4: Begin low-risk, low-stakes match meetups in person.

Why the World Needs This App

In the United States, the Surgeon General has declared loneliness the defining public health crisis of our generation. Check out our FAQs for the link to the full advisory.

But it doesn't take 82 pages of data to tell us that we are more disconnected from our neighbors, friends, and our communities than any previous generation; we can see it. We feel it. And now more than ever, we need community and social connection.

It is our hope that the Nuclear Fusion app can be part of the solution to increasing connection and decreasing loneliness, and to meeting and surpassing the challenges of raising children, supporting aging parents, and living independently.

The Mission

To unite people and families from across the globe who desire to make a commitment to building a village with geographical-closeness, to aid in the effort of everyday survival, well-being, and happiness. Whether this looks like forming intentional friendship/chosen family pods who live nearby and want to be an active part of each other's lives, or forming co-families who actually cohabitate together, or any configuration in between.

The Vision

A world in which resources are shared amongst chosen-family pods and villages, reducing the need for superfluous and toxic spending and waste.

A world in which all individuals, regardless of age, race, ability, gender, sexuality, class, love- style, religion, trauma, and more, can know the beautiful paradox of autonomy and freedom through the practice of mutual aid and community.

A world in which the burden of survival as an individual, and the burden of child-rearing and end-of-life-care, are lifted through the support of a village/chosen family who live geographically close enough to be an effective part of each other's daily lives.

A world in which the individuals who make up that village have high emotional intelligence so that loving, kind, and interdependent-but-not-codependent environments are created.

Where are we at in the fundraising and app-building process?

Phase 1 of the app build, "The Ignition Phase", was completed at the end of 2022, with an initial investment made personally by Remodeled Love.

Phase 2 of the build, "The Mapping Phase", was successfully crowdsourced via Kickstarter, raising a whopping $17, 402 in just 60 days; $3,402 over our initial goal!

But the dream is not yet complete.

Our build team has quoted us about $45,000 to finish the coding in Phase 3 to get a quality beta version of the app out on both apple and android, and that doesn't include the money needed to pay our admin, marketing, and consulting team.

Though we plan on funding Phase 3 and beyond with angel investors, we want a way to catch folks who want to be a part of the project's investment now, especially as word continues to spread across the globe.

With the Kickstarter campaign ending, we had folks asking, "Can I still donate?" and "How can I be part of the beta launch of the app?"
