Nugget The Toy Poodle
Donation protected
My name is Colleen and I was witness to a dog attack in my local area on Wednesday Evening 18th May
A Toy Poodle called Nugget and his Poodle sister were walking along a residential street in Botany when an American Pitbull ran out from a house and locked its jaw into Nugget's Leg & Torso. Neighbours came rushing to the rescue and after a period of time were able to release Nugget from The Pitbull's jaws.
Nugget was rushed to The Veterinary Hospital and underwent Emergency Surgery for 3hours. His leg was damaged, there were several lacerations to his colon and intestinal damage, the stomach tendon was torn and capillaries were ripped open.
The Vet gave Nuggest 50% chance of survival as they were concerned about infection in his ruptured colon and that was too weak to undergo more surgery.
Protein was also found in his blood, so he had to endure several plasma tranfusions.
Nugget has been under 24hour care for 5 days and has fought so hard for his survival that on the fifth day, the odds turned positively in his direction and it looks like he's going to make it...they are bred tough in Botany, I'll say that much!!!
However, the Veterinary Bill has already reached $28000 and Nugget will remain under 24hour supervision for the next 3-4days.
The thought of Nugget coming home is sheer joy and massive hope to everybody that has shown such concern and kindness through Nugget's battle. The story resonates with many of us that are pet owners either of aggressors or victims.
Please consider donating to this Fund.
Nicole Webster is the owner of Nugget and all funds will be transferred to Nicole so she can pay the outstanding Veterinary Bills.
