Hello my name is Monica Jones. I am a Nurse of 20 years.
I was attacked by a Covid19 psychotic patient. No one came to my aide because the other staff members were afraid of getting Covid. At first I was angry but I know now that fear, being uniformed coupled with lack of education can be a dangerous combination.
I now walk with a limp because of the injury to my right knee that required major surgery.my teeth have been replaced with a bridge, my mental state remains in shambles and I have had to file bankruptcy. I am one of those persons that Covid-19 has affected in a strange way. On August 2 I was just a Nurse trying to do right thing for all my patients.
I now tremble at the thought of going back into the field that I love. I enjoyed being a floor nurse interacting with my patients and my team of coworkers....I miss it.
