Nurse Lisa’s Round 2 Cancer Fight

Lisa is a Registered Nurse who means so much to so many people; her 5 children, family, friends and colleagues, as well as the patients and their families she cares so much for. She is the most kind and compassionate person you could ever meet. The most significant of her traits, and the reason behind this campaign, is that she is completely and utterly selfless, forever putting others ahead of herself.

Lisa, who has already battled Cancer in 2016, has had devastating news that it has returned and will again need to undergo Radiation treatment and some pretty serious surgeries to save her life including a feeding tube.

Lisa works full time hours but due to being unwell for a number of months has no more sick leave and has not reached her long service leave entitlements and unfortunately she is not well enough to continue to work and bills still need to be paid.

I am just one of many who work with Lisa, consider her a friend, and wanted to start this campaign, as a colleague put it - " She is universally loved and the most beautiful ray of light that has graced our lives".

Lisa only has a positive demeanour no matter what is happening and what is thrown at her but like all of us, she has bills and expenses that she is going to be unable to pay so lets all band together to help her to take the time she needs to focus on herself and her recovery, and to give back to someone who is always giving to others.

UPDATE: 6/1/23 

So, I'm home, I was allowed to come home if I promise to fatten up, no way I could ever fatten up on hospital food, so I have a plan.... I'll be doing soup packed with as much nutrition as possible if anyone has any recipes ? the news is home for a couple of weeks to get organised for a bit of a journey. I'm off to St Vincents for treatment and its a bit of a long one I think…there are bonuses , I know that area very well and I have friends and family virtually on the door step. there is a gorgeous park where I can sit on the grass✌️ thank you for spoiling and supporting me last few days , oh and the beautiful nurses who looked after me in maternity at Gosford, we just all fell in love. We had tears and hugs when I left but I gave them an enormous load of chocolate , nurses love chocolate Bonuses be kind because I swear when you need it, it comes back in abundance, much love
