NURSE MARTHA GONZALEZ
Donation protected
Martha Lopez Gonzalez is a First Responder/LVN Nurse with over 28 years of experience and working in Home Health Care.
On July 4, 2020 Martha tested positive for Covid-19 after being exposed by one of her patients. On July 11, 2020 Martha's oxygen level dropped significantly and had to be hospitalized. On July 24, 2020 after been given Plasma with the Covid-19 antibodies, Martha was placed in the ICU Unit and on the ventilator. Martha's condition became significantly worse and had to be intubated and sedated. Martha remained in the sedated state up until August 24, 2020. Sedation medication remained in her system for weeks and was still given sedation medication at lower doses, because she was very weak and to avoid her body going into any kind of distress. Martha remained in the Hospital up until recently when her insurance was canceled on December 31, 2020.
Since then, Martha still remains with a trachea on her neck, a feeding tube on her stomach, foley catheter, and 24/7 use of oxygen since her lungs have been severely damaged from Covid-19. Currently, Martha is bedbound and is unable to lift her arms or legs. Having been sedated for so long has also caused nerve damage that causes pain to the slightest touch and numbness on her right side.
Martha went from a nurse who worked 6 to 7 days a week to now having to rely on someone to do just about everything.
Anyone who knows Martha will tell you that she is the most loving and caring person that would give her shirt off her back. She is known to give to people even if it puts her in a bad situation.
Martha's insurance has been canceled and the medical needs continue. We ask that you can find it in your heart to contribute anything at all to help her thru these weeks or even months. The road will be long, but with the help of loving friends and family, it will hopefully be easier. Thank you and God Bless.
