Hyperemesis gravidarum

Hi, I’m Leah—a young mum of one with another baby due this summer. I’m currently fundraising for myself after losing my job in childcare due to severe Hyperemesis Gravidarum and other pregnancy complications. I’ve had to put my career and education plans on hold, which has been a big financial strain as I’m the sole provider for my family.

I developed HG just two weeks into pregnancy—extreme nausea, dehydration, and constant sickness left me unable to function. I was hospitalised early on and started treatment, which helped some symptoms, but I’m still very limited physically and mostly on bed rest.

This has affected every part of my life—from missing out on time with my son to being unable to do basic tasks like cleaning or shopping. I don’t have family support, but I’m lucky to have kind neighbours who help when they can.
