NURSES' Covid Task Force for PPE
Donation protected
My heart breaks knowing you and your families are not allowed to come in to see and support your loved ones who have fallen ill.
As a nurse, I want to have enough protection to be able to go into the room, for your brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, and children, to be able to hold their hands for you.
To be at their bedside more often so that you can facetime and speak with them.
NYC is now the epicenter of the world for the impact of Covid-19.
Yet, the frontline workers in the US, for some reason, continue to be the least protected of all major countries affected by this pandemic.
From the first news of this impending threat, to the now undeniable effects of this unwelcome disease, we healthcare workers have spent many countless hours, days, weeks in physical & emotional battles.
Both intrapersonally, & for our patients - our fellow citizens.
We are here to save our city & country - but without proper protection, our fear for our own lives - and many who have already been lost, or fallen ill - is our greatest hindrance.
There is still a great deal of mystery with this virus, but one thing is crystal clear: how we can protect ourselves.
Our hospitals are doing what they can, but we need more help.
We have been personally sourcing our own FDA approved PPE, and if we get enough, I will distribute to whoever I can in the NYC area to help.
If you can spare anything to support, we would greatly appreciate it. We love you, NYC.
