NUTCRACKER LANE UPDATE:
Made possible by your generous donations last year, we’re back!!! (And heard Santa will be too)
Last December, after posting it may be our last year, we were overwhelmed by the outpouring of your heartfelt stories, support and donations. Over the summer, multigenerational families of Nutcracker Lane, came together to repaint and give new life to the 35 year old decorations. Donations from the GoFundMe helped pay for supplies and our offsite storage facility, as we had recently lost the gifted space we used for over 35 years.
We continue to be reminded of what makes this neighborhood so special: the community we build and traditions that bring us together. Whether gathering at Wednesday food trucks organized during a pandemic, decorating bikes and parading through streets on the 4th of July, dancing in the streets to the Tasty Waves, or taking a traditional family walk on Christmas Eve to a lighted neighborhood filled with candy canes and nutcrackers.
Wishing you a Holiday Season abundant in joy, good health and peace.
We continue to explore ways to make this tradition sustainable. Thank you for your support.
Original Post:
We are humbled by your kind words, personal memories shared and generous offers of community support. As a result, we've created a Go Fund Me to help cover the cost to store the decorations and make a few much needed repairs to some of our candy canes and Nutcrackers (we were fortunate enough to have had a donated storage space for the past 35 years which came to an end this year).
Any money raised above and beyond the cost of storage and repairs will be donated to the Issaquah Food Bank.
We look forward to keeping the tradition alive!
