Nutcracker Surgery for Kacey Nightingale

Hi, my name is Kacey and I'm 21. In the last year I have been diagnosed and dealing with a rare compression to my kidney.

When I found out I had this compression to my kidney, called Posterior Nutcracker Syndrome, I had been dealing with pain for the last 3 years.

With the funds that I receive, I will be putting it towards my surgery and accommodation.

Since my condition is so rare, I have to travel to Sydney for my operation and will have to stay there for 6 weeks, possibly more.

I will be having an autotransplant of my kidney to move it from my left side of my body to the right. The operation itself will leave me with a gap payment of $11,600 and my accommodation will be around $7000 to stay near the hospital.

Nutcracker Syndrome has really affected my quality of life, for example; some days I can't work and I use all my leave, im nauseous a lot, I can't go out and do what other people my age are doing due to pain, nausea and dizziness and i'm on a high dose of pain meds that cause side effects.

In the middle of doing tests to proceed with the possibility of surgery, we discovered I also had a rare bleeding disorder called Dense Granules Storage Pool Disorder which will make surgery a little more complicated.

With the costs of everything prior to surgery, I am struggling to gather funds for my surgery. I would be happy with any help I can get and if you are unable to donate, I would like to raise awareness for Nutcracker Syndrome as it is not talked about enough and some doctors don't even know what it is.
