In June, Ryan and Lexa were thrilled to find out they were expecting a second baby in early March! When they went in for their 20 week anatomy scan, they were told their sweet baby girl, Lucy has Spina Bifida. With this diagnosis, doctors referred them to a hospital in Houston that specializes in an in utero surgery that would correct the defect and prevent any further neurological defects. Committed to giving their little Lucy the best possible chance at quality of life, they began the testing necessary to be approved for this surgery. After completing some preliminary testing here in Georgia and getting the first round of approvals, they will now be heading to Houston next week for another three days of testing needed for the doctors to make a final decision. We ask that you be in prayer specifically for this approval! If they gain approval for the surgery, Ryan and Lexa will be in Houston for a minimum of 3-4 weeks for surgery and recovery.

Since sharing this information with so many of you, Ryan and Lexa have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of support and prayers! They are truly so grateful for the incredible community of people surrounding them. In support of Ryan and Lexa, we have started this GoFundMe to help raise funds for them as they do everything they can to give Lucy the best care possible. The funds raised will go towards medical bills; specifically Lucy’s surgery, whether it’s in utero or once she is born, travel to and from Houston, housing and expenses while in Houston, and continuing care for Lucy once she’s here. We know God's got this and that he specifically chose Ryan, Lexa, and Carter to be Lucy's incredible parents and amazing big brother!
