Fathers house burnt down

Donation protected
On behalf of father I have got his permission to set up a go fund me page for him.
yesterday Saturday the 2nd of December at 8.26 I received a phone call no one could even imagine, my daddy who is disabled and 75 was being pulled out of his bedroom window being rescued by his neighbours in glenbawn, from a house fire.

the mobility scooter that give him independence caught fire, it was the spair battery in the boot that had caught fire and exploded. The scooter sits just outside his bedroom door, the bungalow was engolfed in flames within minutes and the windows blew out, a neighbour was able to clim into his bedroom window push him out the window while out hers pulled him out to safety. The bungalow was gone in minutes! the mobility scooter was only bought in June 2022 brand new!! And it was not cheap!

it also has to stay inside for insurance reasons! Which could have been detrimental little did we know as a family what this could have done! our daddy’s home is now gone, and it can not be rebuilt due to the severity of the damage the fire has caused. He now has a no home at the age of 75, disabled and with COPD he now has to restart all over again.

we are waiting until Monday to see what the housing executive have available for his needs as he needs a ground floor property in the same area. We are all in shock and I don’t even think it has hitt daddy to what he has lost. We thank god that he is alive and well with us. But we desperately now need a home for him so that he can live with the independence that he still has, even if it isn’t much due to his disability!

I know the community he has around him are going to fight for him every step up the way until we get him back into his own home comforts again. I can’t thank his neibhours and friends enough, and also thank his amazing walking group 50/50 that he goes along with every evening on his scooter.
his scooter, home family and friends really are his lifeline!

I don’t think I can put a value on the sentimental things he has lost but we have to try and start somewhere for him.

I know the stress of Christmas really affects everyone this time of year, any donation will be greatly appreciated as we try and rebuild some sort of normality for him again.
thank use all! From me charlene, my brother mark, my daddy Johnny and also family x
