Fast Laps For Brave Kids

Hi everyone I hope your are all healthy I know there is a sickness going around so stay healthy. I want to share the back story on how this fundraiser came to be. On October 20 1994 I lost my best friend and my dad Harvey Burling to lung and liver cancer and I promised him I would do my best to help people. So, I never kept that promise until 2016 when a friend called from out west and said his wife died of stage 4 breast cancer . So Pinky came to life she was a pink dodge mini stock but she wanted nothing to do with racing but made a great show car so I dragged her to events and car shows and she raised $1900.00 for breast cancer. Now skipping ahead to late 2023 I found out one of my heroes had stage 4 breast cancer an ended up looing her battel and passed away Lizzy Missi, then a friend said she had breast cancer and had to loose a breast I'm very happy to say she is cancer free " thank God" but many aren't so lucky and many go without treatment because they can't afford it. That can't happen, so along came Racing For P.A.F ( patient assistance fund ) at the cancer center in Newmarket I found an amazing family in the McPhersons and young Ben McPherson and they put our logo on their car and though going to events we raised $1000.00 so far. so lets skip ahead to 2024 when a friend came to me and said she has breast cancer and has to have a breast removed. so I thought this dang breast cancer so I called the Southlake Health Foundation and asked how can I help and got in touch with a lovely young lady named Melanie and we talked about helping the many many children that are suffering from this ugly beast called cancer. So when I was at Peterborough speedway I met another amazing racing family in the MacInnes family and their very talented and awesome daughter and person Gracelynn and i brought this crazy idea of forming a team of drivers to help us promote Fast Laps For Brave Kids and the first one to step up was young Gracelynn saying how can I help. So I got a crazy idea to go to Motorama next year and when I called David with Motorama with my crazy idea he mentioned his family was touched by cancer so he is helping and we are going to be there with Fast Laps For Brave Kids it just doesn't get any better then that.
