Dixie Alley and Family

Dixie was diagnosed with Stage 4 oral cancer in December 2013. In June of 2014, it was believed that the cancer was in remission. In September 2014, after experiencing chest pain, Dixie was diagnosed with Stage 4 secondary Lung Cancer that had metastasized to the bones. On March 4, 2015, we found out that the cancer was not responding to the chemo and radiation and was progressively getting worse. As of June 20th, Dixie's most recent CT scan shows that her oral cancer has returned on top of her lung cancer spreading. She also has necropathy in her throat. It is becoming increasingly harder for her to speak, eat and swallow. On July 1st, we saw the doctor again and all came to the mutual conclusion that hospice and palliative care is the bet route we can take at this point. The doctor has given a prognosis of 2 months. However, due to the trouble Dixie is having eating and drinking (she is down to 76 lbs) and her extremely low blood pressure and hypercalcemia, it's possible that it will be much less.
Due to not not being able to work or receive benefits from the state, Dixie and her family need your help. Dixie has a 22 year old daughter and a 12 year old son who will be starting 6th grade this fall.
