Support Jani to live her life (Donations for treatment)

We are incredibly saddened to share that our beloved friend Jana, affectionately known as Jani to many, has just received the heart-wrenching news that her 4-year struggle with cancer has resurfaced for the fourth time and has spread. This is the first time she has reached out for assistance, and she needs our support during this challenging time.

We are lucky enough to have known Jani for over 20 years but you only have to meet her once to know you will never forget her! She is an amazing woman, sparkling with life and vitality and fun. She is always ready with a warm and welcoming smile and a big hug, and if you visit her, a nice cuppa and some healthy, tasty food!

Jani was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer in 2020, which is a very aggressive type of cancer. Despite the challenges, she has been determined to live her life and has diligently followed the advice of her doctors, undergoing 11 surgeries and enduring some particularly tough courses of chemotherapy. Jani explored all possible treatment options with her oncologist; however, the NHS cannot offer me the treatment she needs to cure her cancer. Her cancer is at stage 4, which is serious as it spreads rapidly.

Throughout all of this, true to her nature, Jani continues to be proactive, positively embracing a widely researched and strict healthy eating programme, which has helped slow the rate the cancer has spread.

We can only imagine how challenging and sometimes frightening the past four years must have been for her. Despite her health challenges, she has continued working. Jani's dedication to her work is truly inspiring. She worked hard to become a psychotherapist and has spent 16 years in the NHS, using her knowledge and skills to support many others in overcoming their mental health challenges. She has dedicated her time to supporting military veterans coping with PTSD and has also assisted individuals in finding ways to live with dementia and other mental health difficulties. Her passion for her work shines through as she wholeheartedly strives to help others overcome their pain.

Jani has no close family for support. Sadly, her lovely mom died from cancer, and they had an especially close bond. But Jani is a warm, welcoming, and wonderful person. She has been able to share some of her fears and feelings with some close, genuine, and valued friends. Gorgeous Gigi, Jani’s adorable cocker spaniel, provides comfort, company, and cuddles when the going gets really tough and has also helped Jani to keep going. Apart from Gigi, Jani lives alone and supports herself on her NHS salary, which so far has paid her bills but doesn’t stretch to cover the private treatment she now needs.

The cost of Jani's intensive private hospital cancer treatment and post-treatment care is £56,000. With our help to fund this treatment, we can help Jani to live the life she wants to live and support her to help all those she helps too. Let’s reflect some of that vitality and positive energy for life and support a wonderful friend who can show us just how precious life really is.
