NWSS Farewell Tour Video Production
Donation protected
After 70 years, the original New Westminster Secondary High School (NWSS) officially closed its doors in December 2020.
In honour of the amazing history and contributions the school has left as a legacy for our community, a volunteer committee – composed of students, graduates, parents, educators and other community members - has worked hard to commemorate the closure by capturing seven decades of memories.
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the committee was not able to organize an in-person farewell tour or other event. In lieu, the committee has partnered with a local not-for-profit organization, New West TV, to create a commemorative video. The video will feature a virtual tour of the old high school, interviews with alumni, educators and staff, as well as highlight key historical moments at NWSS.
The video production is almost complete with an intended release date of June 1st, 2022, however, fundraising efforts to date are still a bit short. The committee is gratefully seeking donations of $20 or more (the price of a tour ticket should an in-person event have occurred) to help cover final costs. All donations regardless of amount are greatly appreciated. Should the 'goal amount' be exceeded, all extra funds will go directly to NWSS for bursary, scholarship, department, or other needs.
