Help furnish assisted living home

Hello everybody! My name is Nicole, and I am the sister of an amazing individual who I love very much and could benefit greatly from your help.

My brother was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder at the young age of 19. Those of us who love him have faced a 10 year struggle trying to help him, and while he is safe, the quality of his home breaks my heart. The U.S. has a woeful lack of assistance, institutions, and resources for individuals with such challenges. It is truly disheartening.

The home he lives in cares for him 24/7, but is underfunded and lacks even the most basic furniture, with the resident sitting in the living area on folding chairs. Many of these residents spend most of their time in this home, rarely leaving. My mother and I have provided blankets, towels, and other things for the 15+ residents living at the home to improve their lives where we can, but it is hard financially. I have searched for grants and assistance with no success.

I know the residents of this home and my family would be so grateful to anyone who can contribute to improve their quality of life. I want to help in the ways I can, and hope other people may want to after hearing our story.
