Christine Santisteban-Gamino and her family

Hi my name is violet and I'm creating a go fund me to help my cousin Christine and her family.
My cousin Christine has been facing challenge after challenge starting with a plumbing leak in her home in April 2023, her insurance company initially denied the claim, she fought for it to be reopened but the damaged materials were not removed until June due to the insurance company’s delay. She, her husband, 7 year old daughter, and 3 year old twins have been living in a hotel 15 miles from her home since then and she has had to spend most of her time trying to get responses from the insurance company to begin repairs, which began in late September but stalled again due to lack of response from the adjuster who ignored repeated communications letting him know that the reimbursement estimate was ridiculously insufficient for the damage caused. When the repairs started in late September the sealed barriers leading to the damaged rooms were removed and, unbeknownst to my cousin, there were openings that allowed mice to come in. The insurance finally approved additional funds and the rest of the repairs began last week, unfortunately, while visiting to check on progress she found her entire kitchen had been ravaged by the infestation and contacted a biohazard cleaning company due to the massive amount of droppings and urine. She was told that nothing can be salvaged since it’s a health hazard and now she has replace every small appliance, dishes, cutlery, pots, pans, baking sheets, dry goods, a litany of spices and baking supplies, anything you can imagine being in the kitchen of a woman who loves to cook, including a vintage 1955 O’Keefe & Merritt stove that belonged to her grandmother, as the mice chewed through the electrical cord and tore out the insulation in addition to it being covered in droppings and urine. The stove alone is estimated to cost $2,200 to refurbish. Droppings were found on all area rugs, in each bedroom, including on top of the beds, which all have to be replaced. All of the kids toys, books, bedding, and her 7 year old’s bed since it had drawers which are now covered in the mess, have to be thrown out as well. She has already faced months of this nightmare being displaced and having to fight for what should have been repaired in a matter of weeks, and has now lost nearly everything she owns. She has told me that she doesn’t even want to go inside anymore and is completely devastated. I am asking for help for my cousin to rebuild the home she has enjoyed for years, but is now in shambles, so that her family can be at ease when they are finally able to move back in. The biohazard cleanup is going to cost at least 8,000 and two days to do so. I know the holidays are approaching but if anyone can please help we would be so grateful.
