Karmell's Jaw Fracture Surgery

Donation protected

If you know me or know my family then you know that an animal for us is not just a pet, they're family. When I was a little girl all I ever wanted for Christmas was a dog and  every year I would write to Santa, telling him how I was being such a good girl that year. Finally on Christmas Eve in 2001, I heard a big cry coming from the living room. At first I thought it was my mom crying but then I turned and saw a large box in front of the christmas tree. Inside of it was my little  tiny baby Karmell and ever since he has been the light of my life.

Karmell is more than just a dog to me, he can do no wrong in my eyes. Even when he gets in trouble I'm right there to tell him it's okay. When I left for college, leaving Karmell was really hard for me. But everytime I came home for the weekend or for a break, I made a b line towards him. My parents nor my brother got a hug or a hello until I hugged my baby first.

Unfortantely on Tuesday October 20, 2015 around 6 o' clock at night my whole world changed. My mom let Karmell out to go to the bathroom and instead of staying in the yard like he usually does, he went to the front of the house. It was there that he saw a neighbor walking their husky, being the friendly dog that Karmell is, he walked around the dog and something just went wrong and the dog snapped. The husky held my dog by the neck and was shaking him, by the time I got outside Karmell was back in the front yard but his mouth was covered in blood. I rushed him to the front porch and wiped the blood away and that's when I saw his jaw had been broken. My baby was in so much and his jaw just hung open, the more he clawed at it the more I cried,

We spent four hours at the emergency vet with Karmell and left him there over night. His jaw is severely fractured in two places and requires surgery that I cannot afford. Currently Karmell's mouth hangs open to the side and we have to hand feed him soft food and hold the water bowl to his face so he can drink. His quality of life WILL NOT  get better if I cannot fix his jaw. So I'm desperately asking my friends, family and giving strangers to help my baby boy. Karmell is an older dog but he deserves to live a long life. He needs to have this surgery as soon as possible before his mouth permanently heals at its current state.

The owner's of the other dog has offered to help but with his injuries being so severe I can't ask them to pay for everything when my dog left the yard and approached them. I'm hoping to get Karmell into surgery the first week of November or next week if possible.
