NYA Family Food Drive

Neighborhood Youth Association is a nonprofit organization that provides educational services to low-income and at-risk youth in Los Angeles. While our focus is education and college access, we know our students can't learn if they are hungry. Our students all receive free or reduced school lunches, and their parents work hard to make sure they have enough food on the table.
Like so many others, our community is being hit hard during the COVID-19 crisis. Our students' parents have lost their jobs, and they are financially and food insecure. At NYA, we provide a holistic service - we serve the student's entire self, from their education to their mental and emotional well being. We feel that it's our job to support their families in this time of great need.
We are hosting a food drive to make sure our students and their families have food on the table this Easter weekend and beyond. We are looking for both money and food donations. We are hoping to raise at least $2,500, which would provide $50 for each family at NYA. With your generous donations and food that we collect, we hope our parents can feel a little less pressure as they continue to support their families at home without an income.

Any money donations will go towards buying food that will be purchased by NYA staff and volunteers, and distributed to NYA families.
