Nyamyumba Project Home, Fall 2023 Linking Lives
Tax deductible
On November 3rd, 2023 we (10 Virginia Tech students) are leaving for Rwanda to participate in a hands-on leadership learning experience. Since 2014, our study abroad program, Linking Lives, has built strong, mutually beneficial relationships with the communities. We have been invited to live in Nyamyumba for a month, participating in projects that serve the needs of these communities, and growing through cultural immersion.
Each year, this study abroad program collaborates with local NGO partners to support the communities we are invited to. We ask you to join us in making a difference in the lives of those in need through Project Home, a community-driven initiative dedicated to providing shelter, hope, and opportunities to individuals and families in Rwanda. It is a branch of service offered by Mabawa, an NGO-recognized association. Project Home provides a safe structure to live in, a place of emotional and physical security, and home furnishings. School supplies and fees, safe water, and food are also provided for a full year so the family has the necessary resources to thrive in their community.
If you would like more information about the program we are studying abroad through, Linking Lives, or the nonprofit we are fundraising for, Mabawa, please visit their websites:
Thank you for being a part of our community and for helping us build hope, change lives, and create a world where everyone has a place to call home.
Sincerely,
Gabby, Max, Payton, Nina, Grace, Avery, Sydney, Sean, Audrey, and Aiden
