New York Encounter 2020 - "Crossing the Divide"

The New York Encounter is a free three-day cultural event in the heart of New York City supported by volunteers, and financially by friends, as a place to build from the ruins of division and hurt in our culture. The New York Encounter (Paideia, Inc. DBA New York Encounter) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation fully funded by charitable donations.

The 2020 edition takes place on Friday, February 14th - Sunday, February 16th, 2020 (Presidents' Day weekend) at the Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 West 18th Street (between Sixth and Seventh Ave), New York.
All events are free of charge and open to the public.
These days we live behind the walls of ideology. They divide us from reality, from each other and from ourselves. And when our ideologies fail to deliver, we are left alone, angry and afraid. However, some events still manage to break through these walls. They can be tragic, like a natural disaster or a school shooting, or beautiful, like a new love or the birth of a child. Then, for a moment, we find ourselves in wonder…more aware…united. Help support us as we explore the possibility of unity in this year’s edition “Crossing the Divide” where we look to bring to light, through witnesses and dialogue, the beauty that arises from unity in a seemingly un-unified world.
