UPDATE: Medical costs for Kim Cavasos Allison

As many of you may know, my sweet sister, Kim Cavasos Allison, has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, which is cancer of plasma cells. The disease can damage the bones, immune system, kidneys, and red blood cell count.

It causes pain in her legs and lower back that can be debilitating. She becomes completely exhausted from just doing simple chores. It is affecting her kidneys, lungs, and muscles. She has been going to physical therapy twice a week for the last 7 months. It helps with pain, but when she gets home, she is drained.

She has doctor appointments every week with all of her specialists and also goes to an oncologist here in Lubbock, as well as a neurologist at Baylor Scott and White.

Despite all of this, she is not getting any better. She finds it increasingly more difficult to do just everyday activities.

Her medical expenses are overwhelming because of the ongoing doctor visits, labs, biopsies, MRIs, PET scans, medications, etc.

She hasn't been able to work for the past 14 months. Because her insurance from last year was out of network, she couldn't go to MD Anderson until this year. Although the insurance will now help, they are really struggling financially.

I am asking for your prayers for her and, if possible, a donation to assist with her ongoing medical costs.

Kim is the first person to step up and help when someone needs it. She goes above and beyond, always taking care of others first. She really needs us now! If you're unable to assist financially with a donation, please continue to pray for her.
