Nyla Byers Support Fund

A member of Mid-Peninsula High School's Class 2022, Nyla Byers is an amazing young woman who has endured a series of devastating losses over the last five years. The faculty and staff of Mid-Pen are launching this GoFundMe campaign to provide her the support she needs to sustain her growth and wellness as she continues to navigate her challenging life journey.

During her 9th grade year, Nyla unexpectedly lost her mother, which turned her world upside down. For the next several years, Nyla split her time between the homes of her maternal grandmother and her father. Then this spring, within the span of just four months, her father, maternal grandmother, and paternal grandmother all passed away. These family members were Nyla’s main source of support, and their absence has left her facing a host of challenges on her own as she works hard to complete her first year at Foothill College. In addition to going to school full time, Nyla works part-time at Foothill, and will soon be starting a summer internship with San Mateo County.

As a community, we have an opportunity to make a positive impact on Nyla’s life when she needs it the most. We can provide crucial support to ensure her continued access to educational opportunities, stable housing, and reliable transportation. With your donations, we will help Nyla:
