NYLF - STEM Pathways
Donation protected
My name is Jenci Robinson, and I am eleven years old. I attend Celeste Henkel Elementary, where I am an AIG Reading and Math student. These classes challenge my daily work ethic, eventually allowing me to reach my full potential. Some extracurricular activities I am in are Girls on the Run, Math Expo, Good News Club, volleyball, and Battle of the Books. One of my teachers recognized me for my academic merit and leadership potential, which led her to nominate me for the National Youth Leadership Forum: Stem Pathways.
The NYLF is a place where students can grow in their leadership skills. The STEM academics will help students to make informed decisions about their futures. This influential time will mold us students into the next great innovators, doctors, scientists, software developers, and engineers. We will explore different stem pathways, such as CSI, using blood drop analysis, fingerprints, and forensic science. Those interested in engineering will design VEX robots and compete in a robotics competition. Prospective medical students will be working in a field of medicine by examining human anatomy and participating in a dissection facilitated by a STEM professional. The curriculum we will be learning as future leaders and innovators will be the foundation of this experience. The concepts and skills I will be introduced to will pave the way for me to excel in growth and development, specifically in five areas of leadership: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
I am thankful for this opportunity because it will assist in developing my potential as a future leader. All that is included in this experience will strengthen my ability to lead my peers with humility and service. I will have no choice but to collaborate with my other students and grow my team-building skills as we work together to achieve common goals. All these areas for growth will assist my academic future and will allow me more tools and memories to achieve success in the coming years. Furthermore, this is an ideal opportunity to explore potential career interests I can pursue when the time comes.
Finally, this trip will be at Campbell University from June 15th to June 20th. The tuition for this opportunity is $3,500. If you should be moved to participate financially in this experience, you can donate through the GoFundMe page that my parents have set up for me. Pray that I will be successful in gaining as much as the Lord would allow from this great opportunity.
Thank You,
Jenci Robinson
