On February 6 at 4:17 AM local time, two devastating earthquakes of magnitudes 7.8 and 7.5 occurred in the southern part of Turkey, making it one of the deadliest disasters in the history of the country. In the first 24 hours, these earthquakes are followed by 280 aftershocks with varying magnitudes between 2.5 - 6.6. Around ten cities are catastrophically affected by the earthquakes, and people desperately need help. Besides, harsh winter conditions hamper efforts to find and accommodate the survivors.

As of now, there are around 32000 dead, 81000 injured, and 42000 buildings have now been reduced to rubble or heavily damaged. As NYU Tandon students, we set a goal to raise $10,000 to support the current humanitarian aid. The funds collected will be directly transferred to the Bridge to Turkiye Fund. This is a volunteer-run organization, raising $3,000,000 for the ongoing search and rescue efforts.

Please note that the additional tipping during the donation is optional and will not contribute to the donation amount.
