Start up - Norfolk Haldimand Community Hospice
Donation protected
Goal - to build a Centre for Hospice Palliative Care to service Norfolk and Haldimand Communities.
The Centre will cost approximately 6 million dollars to build. Annual costs will be approximately 1.2 million for all programs and services. Our goal is to secure government funding for partial operating costs. (Government does not fund 100%.) Our plan is to raise the extra operating costs for a minimum of one year prior to opening. We plan to have our doors open by 2022.
Hospice Palliative Care is whole person health care for individuals and families who are living with, or dying from, advanced illness or are bereaved. The Goal is to relieve suffering, provide comfort, dignity and the best quality of life for both the individual and family.
Within this centre will be:
Private hospice beds with 24 hr RN care
Day Hospice program
Pain and symptom management consultation
Bereavement support for adults and children
Caregiver and family support
Psychosocial and Spiritual care
Wellness programs
