Cheri Simonds
Wife. Mother. Woman of God. Sweetest Woman We Know.
Cheri was diagnosed with MS (Also known as: Multiple Sclerosis) in March of 2011. This is a nerve disease that destroys the nerves in her body and attacks her brain. This is when her health began to change. Early on with the diagnosis Cheri struggled from temporary vision loss in each of her eyes, numbness, trouble balancing when she walked, and extreme fatigue. Trips to the grocery store became less frequent, and she had to quit her 9-5 job. She continued to rapidly digress. Many medicines and therapies have been attempted to try and help her get better, but MS has no known cure.
Today, Cheri is bedridden, unable to walk, unable to go the the bathroom by herself. Her muscles have all deteriorated. She has leg and bladder spasms frequently. She can only use her left arm and neck muscles, but even those muscles are weakening. Thankfully, she can still eat and even loves for us to get her a grande mocha from Starbucks. Haha!
Throughout all of this, we are unable to take her out anymore. She is heavy and the cars we have are not suitable for her to ride in. We are in desperate need for a wheelchair accessible van that would help transport her to church, important events, doctors appointments, and so on. She struggles with depression and it would be beneficial to get her out of the house more.
We need the funds as soon as possible. It means so much that so many people are praying and supporting her. We would love for you to continue to do so and also consider giving monetarily to this fundraiser. We would be so thankful because it would help Cheri have a better quality of life. Thank you so much for the love and support.
We are reminded of this truth:
"Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day." -2 Corinthians 4:16
The Lord is working even when it doesn't make sense to us. He is renewing us spiritaully day after day and we know that His plans are better than anything we could think of. Praise God that this world is not our home and that He is for our good and His glory.
