Dormitory for vulnerable girls
Donation protected
The Ogongo Mixed Secondary school in Kenya has around 160 girl pupils. Many of these girls are classified as vulnerable as the have a 2-3 kilometer walk to and from school each day. At present there is a corrugated iron dormitory that can house 30 of these girls. We are trying to build a 100 bed dormitory so that the majority of the girls can board at the school, this means they will not have an unsafe journey to and from school, they will be less tired when they arrive and they will be able to study, rather than going home to do household chores. Girls that currently stay in the metal construction dormitory do better in studies than those that have to travel.
