Oak Park Memorial Bench for Wendy Joy Walker

Hey everyone! As most of you know, my mom loved nature. She loved clouds, trees, lakes and animals of all sorts (especially cats hehe). She often found peace watching the birds and squirrels, whether they were in her backyard or at Oak Park. It was something that always seemed to bring her joy and keep her grounded in the present moment.

She spent a lot of time with me and my brothers at Oak Park. I have many fond childhood memories of her driving us to Minot to that specific, special place. We also spent time together there as adults. We would eat meals there, watching the geese and listening to the leaves flutter in the breeze. Sometimes we'd bring a blanket and sit in the grass, looking down at the river. It was always a calming reprieve for her and for us.

In short, because my mom was cremated and does not have a single resting place where friends and family can pay tribute, I'd like to purchase a memorial bench in her memory for friends and family to visit. We can sit with her spirit and watch the squirrels and birds together. I think she would love that very much.

Memorial

• The fee is $1,200. This fee covers the cost of a standard 4” x 6" bronze plaque with 4 lines of text mounted to the bench, and if necessary, replacement of the bench and/or plaque. Once the order has been placed, please allow up to 3 months to complete installation based on weather.
