Oakland Chinatown Fire Recovery
Tax deductible
Oakland Chinatown is once again hit by devastation with a five-alarm fire on the morning of September 16, 2020. We are thankful that there are no fatalities from the fire and that the 80 firefighters were able to contain the fire to one two-story building on the corner of Eighth and Webster Streets. Sixteen businesses were devastated by the fire, including T&K Café, Gum Wah Restaurant, Rang Dong Restaurant, Huangcheng Noodle, Aloha Market, Great Wall Company, and Anson Travel. A few of these businesses are interested in relocating and rebuilding their business in Oakland Chinatown.
The Oakland Chinatown Chamber of Commerce looks forward to helping these businesses re-establish themselves so that we can continue to have a variety of restaurants, retail stores, and professional businesses available to service the community. We invite you to help these businesses rebuild themselves and keep Chinatown a thriving community by making a tax-deductible donation through the Oakland Chinatown Chamber Foundation (EIN 37-1433643). The Foundation will administer grants available to the impacted businesses for the purpose of relocating and rebuilding their business in Oakland Chinatown.
