Oakland Staff Safety Net

Hi everyone,

We hate to have to do this but (like everyone in the service industry) we are now effectively closed. Making cocktails and creating a safe place for community is not only our passion but our careers. And unfortunately we have no way of working from home and now we must ask for you generosity and kindness (if you are able) in the form of financial support for our staff.

The Oakland has been a staple in the metro Detroit area for the past 8 years providing great hospitality and drinks. Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 epidemic, we are forced to close for the foreseeable future to prevent the spread of the disease. During this time, we will be out of work. Our goal is to ensure that our staff will not experience any economic hardships during this period, or if we cannot do that, simply lesson those hardships we will face  

If you’ve ever enjoyed your experience at The Oakland, felt the sense of community we’ve done our best to foster, or simply been relieved to have your favorite cocktail made right before you after a long day at work,please consider giving anything you can. Any donations are appreciated, and will make a huge difference for all of us.  All contributions will go directly to our staff. We know that everyone will be hurting in the next coming weeks and or months and we know not all are in a position to help. But, please, if you are of means, consider giving what you can to keep our wonderful staff safe.  

In addition to this — we would love to share with you any of our recipes so that you can continue to enjoy cocktails within the comfort of your own home.
