Kayla had our beautiful baby girl Monday morning at approximately 12:30. She is so wonderful. Unfortunately, when she came into this world, they found blue spots on her. We found out it is something called blueberry muffin rash. She also has an extended abdomen, which they were worried about as well. They took her to the NICU and told us that morning around 9:30 that she was really sick but didn’t know what. Around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, they life-flighted Kayla and my baby to Omaha Children’s Hospital. I stayed back and drove the children up so we could all be here together. They were able to diagnose her. They told us she has acute myeloid leukemia. It is going to be a battle, but with chemo, they are hoping for a good outcome. Right now, we could use prayers for our beautiful daughter, Oakley LaRena.
