Oakleys open heart surgery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ashley. i’m creating this go fund me for my brother & his wife. October 9th 2017 they welcomed their first baby girl, Oakley Oasis. When my sister-in-law was five months pregnant they were given the heart breaking news that their baby girl had a heart defect. Hypoplastic left heart syndrome. Hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) is a birth defect that affects normal blood flow through the heart. As the baby develops during pregnancy, the left side of the heart doesn’t form correctly. Hypoplastic left heart syndrome is is one type of congenital heart defects.
Oakley had her first open heart surgery when she was only 4 days old. Oakley has beat all odds thus far, conquered all challenges she has faced & will continue to do so as they come. Oakley is shy, yet so strong and brave! Oakley enjoys her time most when she’s with her parents & her other siblings. Oakley has one older brother (almost 7) & two younger sisters (3 & 1) Oakley‘s older brother is so protective & gentle with her. Her two little sisters look up to her so much. Oakley is sweet, she actually has what is called a sympathy cry. If Oakley sees someone else crying she begins to cry too, The theory is that when others are sad she feels sad for them. If I didn’t tell you Oakley has a heart defect & has had multiply heart operations/surgeries you wouldn’t know because she doesn’t let it show. She’s unstoppable & so happy!
Oakley‘s most recent open-heart surgery 11/1/2022, (approximately an 11 hr surgery) Oakley is now recovering & doing well.
In hopes of bearing some of the weight I am creating this go fund me, hoping to raise some money to help them catch up on past medical debt, current medical bills, gas money, money for food, commute from home - hospital, needs in general to help them out.
It truly doesn’t take much, I’m just trying to make a difference, to help in any way I can.
Thank you in advance.
