Occupied Short Film

So you've clicked on this rickety old go-fund-me link to donate to our Short Film? You my friend are an absolute legend! But let's tell you a bit more about our short film first, so you can know what you'll be playing a part in making possible.

Here's a peak at the storyline that we'll be exploring in Occupied:

"After being publicly humiliated at a high school house party, socially awkward teenager, Ellie, retreats to the bathroom. When her time in solitude is suddenly interrupted however, Ellie quickly hides behind the shower curtain to avoid being seen. Forced to stay in hiding or risk further embarrassment, Ellie becomes a reluctant audience to the ludicrous events of a party’s bathroom, and an unexpected hero to her biggest tormentor."

Sarah Jones is the Writer and Director of Occupied, and when Sarah pitched this idea to us during our university class, we were all pretty excited to get on board. Making up the rest of the production team is Micheal De Lange as Cinematographer, Chloe Papillon as Editor, Benjamin Hunt as Sound Designer and Nathan Derix-Brown as Producer.

Occupied is a film which we are being tasked to produce as part of our Swinburne Film and Television bachelors course. Although the equipment (for the most part) is being supplied by the university, such as the camera, sound and lighting equipment. There are some things which we need a bit of help with.

The biggest cost of our production is the film itself, which, alongside processing, will cost up to and around $1,000. This is not provided for by the University, however, it does come at a significant discount due to the university's involvement in getting us a pretty good deal. So we do have that to be thankful for, but it's still a lot of money for us uni students.

Other things which your donations will go towards include:

-hiring out locations

-extra equipment, such as cool lenses and lighting

-production design (including props, costumes and set dressing)

-catering

-actors (the action portion of "lights! camera! action!)

-film festival and film competition entry (surprisingly not free)

-general peace of mind in a very stressful production, (which is priceless)
