Ocean's Cancer Treatment

In August 2024, we rushed our sweet boy Ocean to the veterinary hospital because he was showing concerning symptoms. It was a shock when we discovered it was because he had cancer- Lymphoma to be exact- the kind of cancer you can't just remove or ever cure from. With this terrible news, and the realisation that to get him the help he needs it would cost us a small fortune that we simply do not have, mixed with the idea (that we have, for the time being, put on hold) that we were supposed to get married in 2025... Simply put, we're devastated.

Ocean is the gentlest dog- he loves every human he's ever been in contact with. At the dog park, he will run towards the other dog owners, and completely ignore the other dogs. The vets love him. He's a ray of sunshine. We knew our time with him was limited, but we never thought that it would be cut so short. He's only turned 7 in 2024.

I (Rachel) have started this fundraiser in the hopes of getting some help. We didn't feel comfortable asking, but I also know that for some it's the only way they can/know how to help! The goal of 5,000$ (CAD) is put just as a overall goal- the estimate of the full treatment for Ocean was around 10,000$ (CAD), but we won't know for sure until the next couple of weeks/months. He may react poorly to the chemotherapy.

Any remaining money there might be after he's done his treatment ( and hopefully in remission! ) will go towards a road trip for him, as well as generally just spoiling him. They could also help cover the eventual cost of cremation, as well as purchasing an urn for his remains ( which for some messed up reason, is really expensive?? )
