Ocoee Firefighter Fighting Brain Tumor
Donation protected
On April 19th, 2021, 26-year-old Firefighter Taylor Pageau reported for duty as he does every third day to serve and protect the City of Ocoee. That evening while exercising with his crew, Taylor became unresponsive and experienced a grand mal seizure. Taylor was rushed to Health Central Hospital by his brothers and sisters, where CT scans revealed the culprit: a massive frontal lobe brain tumor. FF Pageau was transferred to ORMC for additional testing to determine the best course of treatment.
Because the tumor’s large size is beginning to compress and displace FF Pageau’s brain, neurologists have decided Taylor’s best course of treatment is to surgically remove as much of it as possible. FF Pageau is scheduled to undergo this 8-hour procedure April 28th, 2021 and will require a minimum of 6-months to recover from this major surgery should the tumor be noncancerous and require no further treatments.
FF Pageau has been with the Ocoee Fire Department since February 15th, 2021. As a newer member with the Department, he is in need of financial support to cover his costly medical expenses and compensate for the paychecks he will no longer be receiving during his recovery. 100% of donations received go directly to FF Pageau and his wife Emily to help them during this challenging time.
