OCSO Sgt. Scott Ames Battling Aggressive Cancer

As a Sergeant with the Orange County Sheriff's Office Felony Unit and a member of the SWAT team, Scott Ames and his team hunt down and apprehend the most dangerous fugitives to keep our community safe.

Now, at 56, Scott is facing the toughest battle of his life against an unrelenting and aggressive cancer. The fear and uncertainty that come with this diagnosis are overwhelming, but Scott is determined to fight.

With a grueling eight-hour surgery and long recovery ahead, Scott will be out of work for an undetermined amount of time. In addition to preparing for the challenges of what lies ahead, Scott and his family are facing the harsh reality that their financial burdens are rising dramatically.

Scott is a man of courage and selflessness, whose dedication to serving and protecting others has been unwavering for more than 25 years. Scott is a true hero, awarded the Medal of Valor twice in his illustrious career - once for saving a child from a burning building and again for bravely responding to the Pulse Nightclub shooting.
