FROM THIS POINT ON — THIS GOFUND ME WILL BE USED TO PAY OFF ODINS MEDICAL BILLS, AS WELL AS CELEBRATE HIS LIFE

Hello everyone.

This is odin, a 6 year old handsome brindle French bulldog. Odin has been going through an awful time since may of this year, and was officially diagnosed with a fibrosarcoma high grade tumor in his face. Unfortunately due to the location of this mass, along with the pushed in snout of his breed surgery is not an option. Leaving radiation as my only choice.

I was told today by the radiologist without radiation he could live another 4 months. With radiation, possibly 12 months.

For any of you who do not know me or my family personally, we are not the type to ask for help. But this is not about me.

Odin is the kindest, most loving animal I have ever come to know. He is the only dog I have ever witnessed want to be friends with anyone and anything. From frogs, a giant Saint Bernard or even a newborn baby. He is gentle, he is sweet, and he is the most undeserving of anything less than perfect.

we do understand there are circumstances which people would not donate. And trust me there is no pressure. I am just out of ideas. He needs this radiation. He will get this radiation if it puts me into crippling debt. he is worth every penny I have, especially since it could make him
more comfortable.

If everyone could help as much as they can, even sharing his story would help.

thank you, please keep us in your prayers.

- Marissa (Odin’s mom)

——————— UPDATE ———————-
Odin has officially received all 5 of his radiation treatments, thanks to the generosity of all his donors. We now just wait to see how his tumor shrinks, and how long it will react to the radiation. From that point on a decision will need to be made if another round of radiation treatments is possible. Thank you to all who have donated and prayed for my baby. Without all of you, this would have never been possible.

——- UPDATE #2: 5 months after radiation ———
Odin is doing well. We are keeping a close eye on his tumor for any signs of changing or regrowth. We are constantly going to the dr for checkups also. On 5/8 odin had bloodwork and an X-RAY to show if there were any signs of spreading and he was all clear. Next apt is in June, where he will get a CT scan, so we can see a before and after.

---- UPDATE - IT HAS BEEN A YEAR SINCE THE BEGINNING OF ODINS JOURNEY ---
Odin is doing well and living life to the absolute fullest. our most recent checkup on 6/5 showed that the tumor is still not active, and has no blood supply. at this point, we are just enjoying him being with us. Any donations made after the $10,000 goal are being put into the re-occurring vet bills for checkups, possible additional rounds of radiation as well as odin's adventure bucket list. thank you to everyone who continues to donate and follow along in his journey.

—- UPDATE 9/19 ——
Odin had a CT today showing new growth on his gum and cheek area. Starting 9/25 he will undergo radiation to these areas. This radiation will not be placed on previous treated areas, since those areas are very sensitive from previous treatments. All donations are now being used towards making his next 5 treatments possible. THANK YOU!

——- UPDATE 4/4/24 ———-

The last and final… Odin update
Hello all. As much as this is difficult to write, I felt it was the right thing to do. I have done these updates for almost two years now, which is crazy, but Odin would want his fans to know how he finished his journey.

On Monday 3/25- we all stayed home from work as it seemed Odin’s breathing seemed a bit off. He has been panting a bunch, mostly at night. And he was exhausted. His dad and I wanted him to get some well needed rest. And it seemed like that would be the most likely at home. We had a special egg breakfast, and later on in the day we stopped by work to see his friends, and we had some turkey.

Tuesday 3/26- Odin’s final morning with us. He had a pretty awful night. His breathing was getting scary. Panting continuously. Something was off. I could see it in his eyes. He was tired. It was this morning that we decided the vet would come over later that night. A decision both his father and I did not come to lightly. We started the day with an eggy breakfast followed by relaxing and ice cream with dad. We got in some cuddles with grandpaw, then headed out to do a photoshoot.

Odin, despite how he was feeling, gave me a beautiful Easter themed photoshoot then some weekly bump photos. My final bump photos. And ones I will forever cherish. Then we relaxed the remainder of the day just enjoying each other.

When the vet arrived she checked his breathing and stated the issues I was seeing was from the tumor growth on his neck. It’s been there for a while and started to push on his larynx. That’s why he wasn’t getting much sleep, and breathing heavy. The tumor over his eye was causing no issues but his vision, but the one on his lymph node was. And he could eventually have a seizure. After his fight of these last two years, I refused for him to leave us in that way.

That night was the worst night of my life. The night I finally had to say goodbye. Odin was my everything. And as he laid in my arms, I told him he could go. His dad stroked his head and I told him how proud I was of him. How strong he was this whole time. How inspiring he was to dad and I and to all his friends. To go and find his sister. I just kept repeating “I’m so proud of you, I love you” over and over. Telling him to go. And without needing to be put down he left us. Calmly and in my arms. But on his own terms. He did not lose his battle. He did not give up. He left when he was ready. I wouldn’t cry, I refused for his last moment of seeing me to be seeing me in tears.

It was the absolute hardest thing to ever experience. And now having him not with me is unbearable. Odin went with me everywhere, and I really mean everywhere. The bathroom, the eye dr, the OBGYN for his brother’s appointments, the grocery store, work. So now everywhere I am, he just isn’t. It’s like a form of torture.

Since that night, we have visited some of Odin’s favorite spots. His tree outside work, and his favorite park. Leaving little treats for him, so when he is with us he can find them. Seeing his tiny treats there waiting for him gives me a small amount of comfort. It has been quite a journey doing these posts.

To end this final update I just want to leave off with, thank you. Thank you team odin for embracing myself, odin and my family. Without your help radiation treatments would have harder to pay for. Without you we wouldn’t get the joy we get from reading all the comments. We wouldn’t have this strong feeling of community behind us. There wouldn’t be people around the world wearing t-shirts with Odin’s face on them. You have made my boy a true legend and I will never be able to thank you enough.

In honor of odin, please start doing your own adventures with your babies. Don’t wait. Because in the end the pictures are all you have. The memories are all you have. Go make some.

From the bottom of our hearts, Thank you.
