Ofc. Jack Adams & Family Recovery Fund
Donation protected
On Sunday, December 9, 2018, FOP 5-30 Member & Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Ofc. Jack Adams, wife JSO J.O. Cathy Adams, and their two children were traveling home from the Class 8A Florida State High School Championship game in Orlando where their daughter was cheer-leading for Mandarin High School.
The family was involved in a crash in which Cathy was killed and Jack was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Fortunately, Jack's condition has improved and the children were physically uninjured.
Now faced with the loss of one income, mounting medical bills (Jack is still in the ICU at the creation of this account), and the need for emotional healing as a family there is a growing need for financial support. Currently, we cannot even estimate the financial impact of his treatment and recovery but they will need funds very soon due to the loss of Cathy's income and burial.
Please consider helping Jack and his children during their time of need. He is a former United States Marine with nearly 20 years of police service to the City of Jacksonville with the JSO.
100% of the funds received from this account (minus GFM fees) will be given to the Adams family. Family friend and retired JSO Ofc. Glenn Morningstar will manage this until a family member or Jack is able to take the fund over.
The charitable organization, FOP Foundation, is also taking in donations on behalf of the Adams family, 100% of which will be provided to the family with no fees removed. If you would like to donate through the FOP we will accept:
*checks made out to "FOP Foundation", indicate that the donation is for the benefit of the Adams Family. Checks can be emailed to:
Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 5-30
5530 Beach Blvd.; Jacksonville, FL 32207
*Credit Cards - Call [phone redacted].
We would like to extend a very special thank you to the Blake Bortles Foundation for pledging to match $15,000 of all donations received. We would also like to extend another very special thank you to the TMM Foundation and Kent & Christine Stermon for jointly pledging to match $10,000 of all donations to the Adams family.
Thank you in advance for your support of this amazing family. We are confident that with Jacksonville's support they will make it through this very difficult time.
NOTE FOR GFM:
At GFMs request, we are providing that William J. Adams, the beneficiary of this account, is Jack Adams.
