Sat Sri Akaal Sadh Sangat Ji,
I regret to inform you of the tragic passing of Harpaul Multani on Sunday, July 24, 2022, in an unfortunate car accident in the early morning, only 23 years young. As Harpaul Multani's little brother, I never expected a nightmare like this to fall upon my mother and me, to have my other half and biggest inspiration ripped away from me and bear the pain for myself and console my mother.
Raised by a single mother with an absent father, I've witnessed Harpaul grow into such a strong and nurturing young man, always sacrificing his well-being to provide for his mother and little brother. Always staying on top of bills, going with my mother on all errands, and picking up work in yellow taxi; all while excelling in school: graduating from Benjamin N. Cardozo High School, receiving an Associates Degree in Biology from Queens Community College, and was presently on track to graduate and receive his Bachelor's Degree in Human Biology from CUNY Hunter College.
Harpaul's sole passion was to be surrounded by the game of basketball, putting aside playing basketball to dream of becoming an orthopedic surgeon to play his part in nursing athletes back to peak condition. Harpaul was the happiest surrounding himself with the sport, from competing and playing in Sikh Games and Sikh Hoops annually, cheering on his friends and family at every game, and always sharing his opinion and advice about basketball with my eldest cousin and me.
Harpaul was always outgoing and caring, never having a second thought about giving his all to his friends and family. He always seemed to make friends with whoever he met, and whoever was blessed to consider him a friend knew the extra mile he went to be the most loyal and dependable friend one can have.
As his little brother, I couldn't have had a better older brother who always made sure I ate every meal, enjoyed everything that made me happy and made me the strong and caring man I am today— his mirror image. As the eldest son, Harpaul was my mother's crown jewel, her right hand that made sure through all the challenges in life, my mom was happy and that he always will and had fulfilled every promise he made to her.
At the time of writing this, all commencements for Harpaul's funeral, cremation, and prayers have been completed. But while I pray Harpaul is eternally happy and found peace, I, as his little brother and my mother, are each other's support in every way possible. I am making this fundraiser to support the expenses of losing my big brother and the costs that follow to return to a life that will never be enjoyed the same. I am gracious to everyone that extend's a helping hand in this vulnerable time of need. Even writing this pains me beyond belief, and I would never wish this pain on any living soul.
Thank you all for taking the time to read about the beautiful soul Harpaul was and will always be.
Everything I do is for you, Sunny.
