Officer Daniel Torres-Alegre

**Update 8/22 1645 - Daniel has expressed himself as speechless over everyone’s support! Please continue to help and share this fundraiser**

In the early morning hours of August 19, 2023, Officer Daniel Torres-Alegre was conducting a traffic stop, as he often could be found doing, on Military Hwy in Chesapeake, Virginia. Daniel was out of his vehicle speaking with the motorist he stopped, when a drunk driver slammed into his police car, and then into him, sending him flying over the car and into a ditch. Daniel was left with critical injuries to his skull, neck, back and lower body. Daniel has a long road ahead of recovery, but all who know him know he is unable to sit still and will be back before we know it. He is eager to protect the citizens of Chesapeake and support in this time will help him, his girlfriend and their children in the weeks and months to come.

The driver was arrested for DUI inflicting serious bodily injury and held without bond.

Please consider supporting him and his family as he rests and heals. Daniel's squad and academy classmates all speak highly of him. I know that you would too, if you had a chance to meet him.
