On behalf of the Castro family, it is with tremendous grief that we announce the passing of Boynton Beach Police Officer Dennis Castro who tragically and unexpectedly passed away off-duty in the early morning hours of December 10, 2022.
Dennis was a 15-year distinguished Officer of the department and served as a traffic homicide investigator, a member of the SWAT team, and part of the city’s DUI taskforce. Throughout his career he was honored numerous times and received several commendations for his exemplary service to the Boynton Beach community. In addition to his accolades from the department, he was voted Officer of the Year by the Palm Beach County Commission’s Victim Services and Rape Crisis Center in 2021.
Dennis honorably served six years in the United States Marine Corps, including a tour of duty to Iraq. He was a true American hero with a love for God and Country.
Dennis was a dedicated family man
who married in 2010 and was a father to two beautiful children, ages 10 and 3. Despite his successful career, his family was his greatest accomplishment. He enjoyed watching the Jets lose, was a car enthusiast (Mopar), avid outdoorsman, and proud Boricua.
Dennis was a man of faith, courage, passion, honor, strength, humility, and pride. His professionalism, disciple, kindness, friendship, and sense of humor was unmatched.
With permisssion, this memorial account was established to assist Dennis’ widow, Pam Castro, and their two children with future financial expenses.
Til Valhalla and Semper Fi. We’ll take the watch from here.
