Officer Diana Sanchez

Today I come to you because this young lady that has dedicated the last seven years of her life needs her community's support.

She and her partner answered a call yesterday, 11/13, that resulted in shots being fired.

Although Officer Diana Sanchez has only been with The City of Jackson for two months, she has been a law enforcement officer for seven years.

Sunday, 11/13/22, she and her partner answered a call that has put her out of work. She jumped from a bathroom window while under attack. There was very little open space for her to land. She suffers a bruised pelvis, several chipped teeth, multiple cuts, stitches and scratches from that jump. Her most serious physical injuries are the metal fragment still in her eyebrow and some fractured small bones in that same area.

Her family is relieved to say that all of her physical injuries will mend. As you can imagine, her mental state right now is fragile. That, too, will mend. She loves her chosen profession and will return to “protect and serve”.

What we ask of you right now is to help with her immediate costs of living. Diana is a single mother to an incredible four year old daughter, Natalie. She and Natty have routine bills that she needs help with. As you can imagine, no one gets rich being a police officer. She, like most of us, lives pay check to pay check. Right now, there is no definite date for her to return to work. She is on crutches, so no chasing bad guys just yet. With her eye swollen shut, she can’t really focus on all the text messages that her support system is sending... but she is thankful for everyone that has been reaching out.

We are hoping to raise enough money to cover one months living expenses. Rent, groceries, utilities, car payment… maybe even enough for Natty’s Christmas??
