Officer Families Support

Hi, My name is Mike Donnelly and two of our Police Department families are in of need our support.

As many of you know, the Double Oak Police Department lost Officer John Mestas to COVID-related complications on February 7, 2022. Officer John Mestas was in training to serve our community and was excited to meet and serve the citizens of Double Oak. He is survived by his wife and four children.

Officer Lonnie Sneed was Officer Mestas' training officer. Both officers contracted the virus during their time together. Officer Sneed has been in the hospital for several weeks now and is currently fighting for his life. He has a wife and five children.

The lengthy stays in the hospital have caused a great strain on both families. This GoFundMe page has been set up in an effort to take some of the added stress off their families as they are grieving in different ways at this time.
